Beyond the official trail
The passport above is the official eleven, the stops with stamps and swag on the line. But the city’s craft scene does not end at the brewery door. One spot in particular earns a detour even though it is not a Trail stamp:
First Light Distillery, at The Cove
280 King Street, downtown
Fredericton’s first micro-distillery in the downtown core, pouring its own gin, vodka and cocktails alongside local craft beer on tap, wine and zero-proof options, with bottles to take home. Scouts Original Sandwich Shop runs the kitchen inside, and the room is dog- and family-friendly. It is a distillery rather than a taproom, so it sits outside the eleven-stop passport, but it is one of the best places downtown to drink something made a few steps away.
