What Hey Freddy is
Quick answer
Hey Freddy is an independent, automated guide to Fredericton, New Brunswick. It aggregates events and city-service information from public sources several times a day, and explains it in plain language. It is not affiliated with the City of Fredericton.
Where the data comes from
Events are pulled automatically from the Fredericton Capital Region tourism calendar, the Fredericton Playhouse feed, the Beaverbrook Art Gallery, Eventbrite, Songkick and seasonal festival sites. City-service pages are researched against fredericton.ca, the city's open-data portal, and provincial sources, then re-verified on a schedule, each page shows its "last verified" date.
Live alerts (power outages, road closures) come from NB Power's public outage data and NB 511.
Who runs it
Hey Freddy is built and maintained by Brand Butter. Corrections, additions and event tips: heyfreddy@brandbutter.ca. Every correction makes Freddy smarter.
What we're careful about
Automation is honest but not infallible: events get cancelled, schedules shift, and organizers make changes we can't see. For anything that matters, a ticket purchase, a permit, a deadline, confirm with the organizer or Service Fredericton at (506) 460-2020.
Why "Freddy"?
Locals have called Fredericton "Freddy Beach" for decades, the beach is debatable, the affection isn't. The skyline in our logo is the real one: the cathedral, the legislature dome, the walking bridge over the Wolastoq. Ask. Find. Go.
